Welcome to Grant County High School!
Welcome to Grant County High School!
Freshmen year is an exciting time for everyone, but it can also cause some anxiety for some, especially parents. With increased academic rigor and higher expectations, and realizing that you have the freedom and (some) power to make decisions that can potentially effect the rest of your life, freshmen year can be overwhelming. I want to reassure you that the freshmen teachers and administration are here to provide you the support you need to be successful as you learn to take accountability and ownership of your learning.

Introduction
Introduction

This is my web page! I thought I would take this space to introduce myself. My name is Kelly Clifford. This is my second year at Grant County High School. I am currently teaching 9th grade English and 9th grade Honors English; I have taught 9th grade English at Owen County High School since 2009 and taught remedial reading and writing courses at Kentucky State University. I reside in Owen County, but I am originally from Detroit, Michigan. I have attended Michigan State University, Kentucky State University, Morehead State University, and University of the Cumberlands. I received my Bachelor's in English from Kentucky State University and attained my Master's in Education from University of the Cumberlands. I have two sons. Jacob, 12, attends Grant County Middle School and Tyler, 9, attends Dry Ridge Elementary. While I am not from Kentucky, my husband is from Grant County. He graduated from Grant County High School in 1989, so I have some "roots" here.
