THE REAL DEAL ABOUT ACEs, Thursday, Mar. 22

Please join us March 22 for an informative Early Childhood event entitled, "The Real Deal About ACEs."  Ms. Connie Freking, of the Children's Home of Northern Kentucky, will be presenting fascinating research about brain development and the impact "Adverse Childhood Experiences" (ACEs) can have on the health and well-being of children -- even through their adolescence and adulthood.
The target audience for this event will be parents (of children of all ages), grandparents, educators, child-care providers, healthcare providers, and anyone who has a role with children.
At the workshop, Ms. Freking will help identify what is going on physically in a child's body and brain development, and the related impact when children are regularly exposed to fear, and flight or fight situations.  She will identify specific events that have been proven to be most traumatic, and will share how to recognize signs that may indicate a child is not dealing well with that event.  She will share tips that will help minimize the impact of what may be considered unavoidable traumatic events, and bring an awareness that will hopefully help prevent ACEs, and thereby protect the most vulnerable among us.
The workshop will be held at Williamstown Baptist Church, Thursday, March 22, 2018 - 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Families in attendance will receive a free copy of the book, "Guess How Much I Love You," by Sam McBratney.
Free childcare will be provided for those requesting childcare in their registration.
All participants are asked to register in advance at:   https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/realdealaboutaces
