GCHS JROTC – CHAMPIONS AGAIN!

On April 2, 2011, sixteen high school JROTC units from Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia arrived in Morehead, Kentucky, to compete in the Morehead State University Raider Challenge. When the dust settled, Grant County High School’s JROTC stood at the top!

The unit demonstrated leadership skills, mental toughness, physical endurance, and teamwork as they consistently and competitively solved problems in all of the competition categories. The Grant County team placed:

FIRST PLACE OVERALL – ARMY PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST

FIRST PLACE OVERALL – ONE ROPE BRIDGING COMPETITION

FIRST PLACE OVERALL – OBSTACLE/CONFIDENCE COURSE CROSS-COUNTRY

Points earned in individual events were then tallied to name an overall champion, with GRANT COUNTY being named:

FIRST PLACE OVERALL CHAMPIONS

MOREHEAD STATE UNIVERSITY JROTC RAIDER CHALLENGE

The GCHS JROTC represented Grant County High School, the Grant County School District, and the Grant County and Northern Kentucky community in an outstanding manner, worthy of emulation by all.

Congratulations to each of the cadets individually and as a unit, and to their leadership in the corps and at GCHS!
