In recent weeks there have been a series of tragedies across the nation in which students have been injured or killed as the result of other drivers on the road simply disregarding school bus safety laws.
Grant County is not immune to this scenario. We are fortunate, thus far, that there has been no loss of life, but our bus drivers regularly observe vehicles whose drivers choose to take risks with the safety of our children. Please do not let this be you.

In a nutshell, in Grant County,
if the bus’s stop sign is extended and/or lights are flashing red you MUST stop –
regardless of which direction you are traveling.
The only exception to this rule in our entire county is
from Wal-Mart to Beans in Dry Ridge
in which
traffic in BOTH lanes going the same direction as the bus MUST stop,
but oncoming traffic does not.
We thank you for your observance of these safety rules, and ask that you always be vigilant -- especially during the hours our buses are typically on the roads, on dark and foggy mornings, near bus stops where students may be waiting, and in blind and narrow spots on our many rural roads. The lives of our students, and your future well-being, as well, is so worth the few seconds it takes to ensure safety for all.
