The Grant County Board of Education has adopted the calendar for the 2013-2014 school year.
The 2013-2014 calendar again features a unique start for students who will be entering kindergarten, sixth, and ninth grades. This schedule will allow students who will be attending new buildings the opportunity to become acclimated to their surroundings, schedules, and expectations before being joined by the older students. This special day of orientation will help ensure a smooth, successful start for these students as they begin their elementary, middle, and high school academic careers.
Please note the following:
Tuesday, August 13, 2013, will be the first day for kindergarten, sixth, and ninth grade students.
Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, will be the first day for grades 1-5, 7-8, 10-12.
Kindergarten students will enjoy their second day on August 14.*
6th and 9th grade students will NOT attend on August 14.
Thursday, August 15, 2013, all students will attend.
Transportation and meals will be offered starting Tuesday, August 13.
*Because kindergarten students attend both August 13 and August 14, their school year will conclude one day earlier (May 13 on original calendar), while all other students (Grades 1-12) will conclude on May 14 (original calendar).
