Congratulations to the GCHS Chamber Choir upon their DISTINGUISHED rating at the KMEA State Choral Assessment held Wednesday, March 23, 2016! This is a super talented group of kids who have worked hard for this distinction!  The Chamber Choir is under the direction of Mrs. Faith Clifton.

Not to be outdone, on Thursday, March 24, 2016, the GCMS 7th and 8th grade choir, under the direction of Mrs. Jessica Proffitt, brought home their own DISTINGUISHED honors!   The 7th & 8th Grade Choir performed two pieces for the assessment:  "The Journey", arranged by Joseph M. Martin, and "Cantate Canon" by Donald Moore.  The ensemble worked very hard perfecting their performance which was scored by three judges on their overall performance, tone, technique, interpretation, and difficulty of selection.  There was also a sight-reading component included in their overall score.  The KMEA assessment event was hosted at the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring.

Congratulations to all of our choir students and their directors on a job well done!
