ANOTHER RESOURCE IS THE SAFE SCHOOLS HOTLINE
BREAK THE SILENCE...PREVENT THE EVENT!
Provision of a safe environment for our students is of utmost concern to the administration and staff of Grant County Schools. For this reason we provide a 24-hour Safe Schools Helpline for use in reporting any activity which may threaten the health, safety, or well-being of our students.
Students, staff, parents, or community members may use the Safe School Helpline to report any facts, remarks, actions, or potential activities that could jeopardize the safety of our children, staff, or school. Examples of harmful or threatening behavior might include:
> Violence
> Theft
> Drug or alcohol abuse
> Talk of suicide
> Sexual harassment
> Weapons / explosives
> Any illegal activity
Anyone may call the toll-free number at any time. The call is private, confidential, and anonymous.
Please call:
1-800-4-1-VOICE, ext. 359
1-800-418-6423, ext. 359
Upon the receipt of information, the service’s monitor will send a typed copy of your message to the school. If a call appears life threatening, the monitor calls a designated school official immediately, night or day.
(The contact person for Grant County Schools is Al Poweleit, DPP/Safety. Back-ups are Superintendent Mike Hibbett, Deputy Superintendent, Ken Gray, and Assistant Superintendent, Carol Horn.)
Again, your call is private, confidential, and anonymous. Your help in protecting our children is very much appreciated!
