MEAL PRICES, 2019-2020
During 2019-2020, all students in Grant County Schools will receive meals free of charge as part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) offered by the United States Department of Agriculture.  This program allows districts to provide free meals (breakfast and lunch) to 100% of students in schools were a certain percentage of students already pre-qualify for free/reduced meals.

Parents / guardians may still deposit money into student accounts at www.myschoolbucks.com for ala carte items selected by students.

Please note:  Participation in CEP means that families will not complete a free/reduced meal application.  However, because schools / students may qualify for additional state / federal programs based upon income, each household will be asked to complete a Household Information Form.  The Household Information Form will be distributed by the schools with the student information packets.

NEW GRADING SCALE
EFFECTIVE 2019-2020

A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
D = 60 - 69
F = 59 and below
I = Incomplete
Effective with the 2019-2020 school year, Grant County Schools will implement a new grading scale (shown at left).

The new scale, approved recently by the Grant County Board of Education, will not decrease the rigor of any course content or expectations relevant to instruction. It does, however, offer several benefits for our students.

First, it is a fairer scale for ALL students, regardless of one's ability or class ranking.

Second, as most high schools in the area now use this scale, Grant County's adoption of the scale will allow our students to be more competitive for KEES money, scholarships, and other opportunities that place a priority on the student's GPA.

Finally, the new scale aligns with those used by post-secondary institutions.

It is important to note that this new scale will not be retro-active for any current or former students. It will take effect with the 2019-2020 school year and will apply only to courses taken during the Fall, 2019, and future classes.

For questions relevant to the new grading scale, please feel free to contact your school's principal, counselor, or curriculum specialist.

*** NEW & IMPROVED FOR 2019! ***
INFINITE CAMPUS PARENT AND STUDENT PORTALS:

Infinite Campus (IC) has developed new (and separate) parent and student portals / apps.  If not already using this excellent communication tool, both parents and students are encouraged to engage.

“Campus Parent” and “Campus Student” portals are available via a Web Browser and/or an app on your mobile device.

“Campus Parent” provides parents access to student grades, attendance, discipline,  assignments, upcoming exams, and more.  Likewise, “Campus Student” allows students to keep track of schedule, assignments, grades and more.

Parents and students may log in from a Web Browser using the link that is available on the district website (grant.kyschools.us) in the pull-down menu under Downloads and Links.

To use the app, please visit the App Store or Google Play and search for either “Campus Parent” or “Campus Student”.

Existing users may use their existing user name and password to log in.  New users (for either the web browser or the app) must contact their child’s school (in person) for an activation key (and instructions) for accessing IC.
