KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR FALL, 2020 -- REVISITED

Kindergarten Registration:  “Take 2!”

Yes, it’s time to be thinking about our Kindergarten class of 2020!  Though we would love to meet each new student and family face-to-face, continued COVID-19 restrictions dictate that, at the present time, it is necessary to proceed with a remote, pre-registration process.

We are, therefore, simply asking any parent of upcoming Kindergarten students who DID NOT have the opportunity to attend one of the registration / screening events held in March to provide us some basic, preliminary information about your child.  This will help us immeasurably as we begin planning for the new year.

The Kindergarten Registration questionnaire is available here:

Once the schools receive names and contact information, they will be able to follow-up with parents to complete the official enrollment process.

Information regarding Kindergarten Enrollment:

Students must turn five (5) on or before August 1st for admission to Kindergarten.  This means students entering Kindergarten this Fall must have a birthdate on or before August 1, 2015, to enroll.  (KRS 158.030)

Early Entrance:  Grant County Schools has established criteria for early entrance to Kindergarten if a child’s birthday falls after August 1st.  In order to be admitted early, the parent must fill out an early entrance application before June 1st.  Other criteria for Early Entrance to GCS Kindergarten include:

--Child must live within the Grant County School District

--Child must score above the 90th percentile on a developmental screener

--Space must be available at the child’s home school

The Early Entrance Policy and Application Form are available below.
