Positive Case for COVID-19 Inside GCS
Dear
GCS Families,
This
morning, the Grant County School District received
notification that one of our employees tested
positive for COVID-19. We are sharing
this information with our stakeholders in order
to be transparent and to provide needed
information
and guidance.
As a
precautionary measure, and at the direction of the Northern
Kentucky District Health Department, all co-workers
who came
in contact with this employee have begun a 14-day period
of self-isolation.
To the best of our knowledge, the affected employee was not having
symptoms while on the job, however had assisted with our food distribution
through Friday of last week in the areas which included the Hwy 491/Gardnersville area -- with stops at Lloyd’s Wildlife, 1855 Heathen Ridge Road, Sherman Newtown & Gardnersville
Road, and North Fork. Our district has worked to identify and personally contact via phone or email individuals believed to have received food along this route, but acknowledge we may not have been aware of the identity of every family. Families on this route who received food last week are encouraged to review the guidance provided by the health department which is available as an attachment below.
As
you are aware, our meal distribution had transitioned earlier this week to a
once-weekly distribution (on Mondays) providing meals for a full week.
Food distribution will continue, except, now, will transition again, this time
to a pick-up system. Details will follow.
Please
continue to follow all the precautionary measures that have been publicized
throughout the last several weeks. These precautions
are necessary to protect yourself and others. If you have questions regarding your / your child’s health and/or COVID-19, please reference the attachment for the contact numbers provided there or visit
kycovid19.ky.gov. Additionally, our district
is happy to help with any questions if we can.
Thank
you for your thoughtful consideration and cooperation moving forward.
Best
Regards,
Matt Morgan
Superintendent
