Grant County Schools will hold Kindergarten Registration on Friday, March 14, 2025, at ALL Elementary schools!
Grant County School District comprises of 4 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school, with a total enrollment of 3,100 students. Enrolling your child in Kindergarten is an important and exciting milestone for any family, and we understand the challenges that come with it. This year, we are welcoming incoming students to our school buildings for a quick screener and to complete the enrollment process. Each elementary school has a specific date for this process, which you will find below. We encourage families to act quickly as the enrollment dates are approaching fast. Please note that students must turn five (5) on or before August 1st for admission to Kindergarten. This means students must be born on or before August 1, 2020, to enroll.
Early Entrance: Grant County Schools has established criteria for early entrance to Kindergarten if a child's birthday falls after August 1st. To be admitted early, the parent must fill out an early entrance application before June 1, 2025. Call your school or visit our district website at https://www.grant.kyschools.us/Downloads/Early%20Entrance%20Policy.pdf for more information. Other criteria for Early Entrance to GCS Kindergarten include: - Child Must Live within the Grant County School District
- Child must score above the 90th percentile on a developmental screener
- Space must be available at the child's home school
