Thanks to the influx of Grant County Schools Alumni returning to celebrate the district's 70th Anniversary, our community felt more like home. The Open House event was held at Grant County Middle School, the original Grant County High School from 1954-1998, and was hosted by the Grant County Schools Alumni Association along with Grant County Schools.
Alumni Association member Carolyn Thomas Thompson shared, “To see the joy and happiness on everyone’s faces as they reconnected with family and friends is what it is all about.”
The gymnasium was filled with classmates reconnecting and sharing memories of their times within Grant County Schools. It was heartwarming to see classmates from the classes of 1954 and 1955, as well as several teachers, including Ms. Elsye Willoughby and Mr. Shirley Howard, joining the event.
“I am impressed with the enduring relationships that connect around experiences within Grant County Schools. The celebration was a testament to the impact of a vibrant education on the community.” Shared Mr. Todd Moody, Superintendent of Grant County Schools. The overall turnout included graduates ranging from 2013 to 1954, and we were delighted with the participation.
Patsy Simpson and Utha Tebleman Graduates from the first class in 1954.
