Grant County Schools Food Service Debuts the Birthday Bus
The Grant County Food Service Department has created a fun way for elementary students to celebrate their birthdays! The Food bus which is utilized during the summer to provide meals throughout Grant County is now working all year long! Food service director, Maggy Livingood shares, “We wanted to utilize the bus more than just 3 months out of the year, so we are starting the monthly Birthday Bus.”  Livingood who began her new role in July is excited to celebrate our students.

September brings the start of the Birthday Bus festivities, each week on Thursday the bus will visit a different elementary school to provide students with a birthday that month with a lunch and a birthday surprise!  This month the bus is celebrating August and September Birthdays.  Students at CMZ were the guinea pigs for the program, they received a birthday cookie with their Domino’s pizza, fruit, vegetable, and milk meal, along with the opportunity of eating on the birthday bus!

Livingood hopes that celebrating students and their special moments becomes commonplace in the Food Service Department.  “We love our students and love being able to celebrate them in special ways.” Livingood shared.
