We are pleased to officially announce Kristin Rice as principal of Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary, following her dedicated service in the interim role this past school year.
Reflecting on her experience, Mrs. Rice shared that stepping into the principal role at CMZ reinforced that leadership is not about having all the answers, but about listening, loving people well, and showing up each day for both students and staff. She has learned that the heart of a school is found in its relationships, and this will remain a central focus moving forward. Mrs. Rice is committed to continuing to build trust, celebrate growth, and create an environment where every student and staff member feels seen, valued, and supported.
Mrs. Rice also highlighted what makes the CMZ community so special. She shared that what stands out most is the genuine care, laughter, and teamwork that fill the building each day. This is a place where individuals consistently go the extra mile without being asked. She noted that some of the most meaningful moments are the quiet, unseen acts—staff members doing extraordinary things for students simply because they care. These moments, though often unnoticed, are what truly define the culture of the school.
Looking ahead, Mrs. Rice is committed to supporting and advancing the vision and mission of Grant County Schools by leading with heart and keeping students at the center of every decision. She aims to foster a culture where both students and staff are encouraged to grow, take risks, and shine. She is grateful to be part of a community that believes in one another and in what is possible for the future, and she looks forward to leading Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary for many years to come.
Please join us in congratulating and supporting Mrs. Kristin Rice as she steps into this role. We are confident in her leadership and excited for the continued success of Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary under her guidance.
