Grant County Schools Welcomes Michael Spratt as Principal of Mason-Corinth Elementary

Grant County Schools is excited to announce the selection of Michael Spratt as the next principal of Mason-Corinth Elementary School.

Mr. Spratt brings 25 years of experience in public education, serving students through both classroom teaching and administrative leadership. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to creating positive learning environments where students, staff, and families feel supported and empowered to succeed. Superintendent Todd Moody shared his enthusiasm for the appointment, saying, "We are excited to welcome Mr. Spratt back to Grant County Schools. His experience, commitment to servant leadership, and passion for students make him an outstanding fit for Mason-Corinth Elementary. We are confident his leadership will have a positive impact on our students, staff, and school community."

Mr. Spratt earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Ball State University before completing his Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree at Northern Kentucky University.

As principal, Mr. Spratt brings a leadership philosophy rooted in servant leadership and what he describes as having a "strong back and a soft heart." His experience includes extensive work in classroom instruction, school leadership, student behavior supports, and implementing district strategic initiatives that promote student growth and success.

"I'm excited to join the Mason-Corinth Elementary family and continue the great work already taking place," said Spratt. "My goal is to build strong relationships with our students, staff, families, and community while creating an environment where every child feels safe, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential."

Looking ahead, Mr. Spratt's priorities include:

  • Creating a safe, positive, and growth-focused learning environment for every student through effective positive behavior supports.

  • Providing collaborative leadership and meaningful support that allows teachers and staff to thrive professionally.

  • Strengthening partnerships with families and the community through open communication, transparency, and shared decision-making while aligning the school's work with Grant County Schools' Strategic Plan and the

    SUCCEED Profile of a Graduate

A longtime member of the Grant County community, Mr. Spratt and his family have deep roots in the district. He and his wife, Kim, have called Grant County home for the past 25 years and are proud parents of two children, Benjamin and Claudia. Both of their children, along with their daughter-in-law, Carelynn, are graduates of Grant County High School.

"Grant County Schools provided the foundation that prepared my family for success in college and their professional careers," Spratt shared. "It is truly an honor to return to Grant County Schools and serve the community that has meant so much to my family. My door is open, my ears are ready to listen, and I look forward to partnering with our students, families, staff, and community as we continue building a culture where every child can succeed."
