Melissa Taylor, Director of Elementary Education

We are excited to welcome Melissa Taylor as the new Director of Elementary Education for Grant County Schools!

With 20 years of experience in education, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion to our district. Her journey began in Indiana as a special education teacher before moving to Kentucky in 2009, where she spent nine years as a high school social studies teacher. For the past seven years, she has served as an instructional coach at both the middle and elementary levels, helping educators implement high-quality instructional resources and use data to drive student growth.

Melissa is known for her systems-level thinking and her commitment to building strong multi-tiered systems of support to ensure effective teaching and learning for all students. She is a strong advocate for making student-centered decisions, believing, “When you always put students first, even the tough decisions are easy ones.”

Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her daughter and son. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Taylor to her new role—her leadership will be a valuable asset to Grant County Schools!
