We are proud to announce that Mrs. Mariruth Morris has been selected as the Interim Principal of Grant County Middle School!

Mrs. Morris is beginning her 21st year in education, with 18 of those years spent right here at GCMS. Her long-standing commitment to our school and community makes her an exceptional choice to lead GCMS into its next chapter.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and two Master’s Degrees from Georgetown College. Her educational background, combined with years of hands-on experience, brings a well-rounded and student-centered perspective to the principal role.

Mrs. Morris brings a wealth of experience in instructional leadership, student support, and team collaboration. She is deeply committed to building a positive school culture where all students feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Looking ahead to the upcoming school year, Mrs. Morris is focused on:

  • Strengthening academic achievement and student engagement

  • Supporting teachers through professional growth opportunities

  • Fostering strong connections between school, home, and community

A proud member of the Grant County community, Mrs. Morris lives with her husband, Jacob Morris, and their two children: Adyson, a junior at Grant County High School, and Deacon, a third grader at Dry Ridge Elementary.
