It has been a wonderful first two days across Grant County Schools!

Tomorrow, all of our students will be together, and we are thrilled to have our buildings full of laughter, learning, and the energy of our students!

Thank you to our incredible families, staff, and community for helping make the first few days of school so special. Your support, dedication, and excitement make Grant County Schools a great place to learn and grow.

Tomorrow, we welcome everyone back—and we can’t wait!

Grant County Schools Families—stay connected with GCS-KY this school year!

The GCS-KY app is a great way to stay connected with your child’s school. Through the app, families can:

📚 Connect with your child’s school and teachers
📝 Submit absence notes
📄 Review important documents
💬 Privately message teachers and coaches through the “Rooms” tab at the bottom of the app

Invitations were just sent to all families who have not signed up yet! Be sure to check for your invitation and get connected.

Each school year, parents must notify the local school district superintendent in writing of their intent to homeschool within 10 days of the start of the school year. This notification is required annually for every year you choose to homeschool your child(ren).

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!!

Some reminders leading into the first days of school this week:
1. Please give buses a little extra time for pick-up and drop off this week. If students can be ready 10 minutes early in the mornings just in case buses are running early, that would be appreciated!
2. Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade students attend school tomorrow, August 18, 2026!
3. Kindergarten - 5th grade, 7th, 8th, and 10th-12th grade will attend school on August 19, 2026!
4. All students attend school on August 20, 2026!

We appreciate everyone's patience and excitement as the new school year begins! We know it is going to be a year of growth for the students within Grant County Schools!
