CMZ PTT Fundraiser Packet's will be coming home today!!! Help us raise funds for Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary CMZ PTT is raising funds for new playground equipment and recess equipment, student resources, and teacher support. We are asking every student to REGISTER and SHARE with 5 or more supporters to help us reach our goal. Every order counts. Orders are due by September 9, 2025. You can either order with order form, you can order online or order with QR Code. When you use the QR code, you will set up an account and can include your child's photo. and it will ask to send message directly to friends and family. Dear Parent/Guardian of a CMZ Eagle,

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! If this is your first experience at Crittenden Mt. Zion Elementary, we’re so glad you’re here. If CMZ has been your home, we’re so glad you’re back!

I wanted to let you know that our school is fortunate to have a Comprehensive School Counseling Program that strives to support the social emotional growth and development of our students. As part of that program, students have the opportunity to meet in small groups or individually throughout the school year with one of our counselors: Ms. Gena or Mrs. Sheshull. Your student may be referred by a teacher or may just want to check in with one of us to talk about making good choices, forming friendships, calming strategies, problem solving, emotion regulation or anything else that might be on their mind. As school counselors, we may employ art, books, games, drawing/writing, building or just simple conversations as we strive to support the social emotional needs of our kiddos so they’re more equipped to take on everyday academic challenges and focus on becoming respectful, responsible and productive citizens.

Hello CMZ families!

We will be keeping daily behavior points through the Thrillshare app this school year. Every student will begin each day with 16 points that correlate to our SOARS behavior expectations. Students can lose and/or gain points based on their behavior choices.

Important News for Families

Some new laws in Kentucky will change things in schools across the state, including here in Grant County.

These changes include:

🕊️ A moment of silence at the start of each school day
📱 Rules about how school staff and volunteers can communicate electronically with students
🚫 A new law against something called “sexual extortion” to help keep students safe
📵 A ban on cell phone use in classrooms during learning time

Grant County Schools will send more information to families soon through Infinite Campus. Please watch for updates.

Grant County Schools Family Resource Center Coordinators along with our Grant County Community are hosting the ninth annual, Braves Bash, a free school supply event at Grant County High School on August, 2, 2025.

Please remember, students must be present to receive supplies! More information will be sent out as we get closer to the event!

🎉🎉We are excited to announce that Mr. Jordon Floyd will be joining Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary School as the new principal! Mr. Floyd brings with him 16 years of experience in education. He served for 13 years as a special education teacher and assistant principal in the Erlanger-Elsmere School District and has spent the past three years at Sherman Elementary. He holds both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, along with a Principal Certification, from Northern Kentucky University. Mr. Floyd is known for his collaborative spirit, calm leadership, and his ability to create strong relationships with students. He is passionate about supporting positive behavior solutions and helping both students and staff reach their full potential. His goal for the upcoming school year is to ensure CMZ remains a place where students thrive and teachers, staff, and parents feel supported and empowered.
