We had a WILD assembly today featuring the Wonder Wheels BMX Stunt Team out of Indianapolis, IN! Our students absolutely LOVED it! The stuntmen did amazing tricks and spoke to our students about teamwork, determination, working hard to meet their goals, and dealing with bullies. All eyes were glued as one of the stuntmen did a backflip over Mr. Haley! Unforgettable! 🚲

This week kicks off Bullying Prevention Month at Sherman! Together, we are learning what bullying is, what it looks like, and how we can all help stop it.

👉 What is bullying?
Bullying is repeated behavior (it happens more than once), unwanted behavior (the person doesn’t want it to happen), that harms others.

Bullying can look like:

Physical – hitting, pushing, or taking someone’s things

Verbal – name-calling, teasing, or threats

Social – leaving someone out or spreading rumors

Digital – hurtful messages or posts online

💡 Family Challenge – Week of October 6
Talk as a family about what bullying is and why it’s hurtful. Then, work together to create a Bullying Prevention Sticker.
🎨 Turn your sticker in to Mrs. Vanhoose by next Tuesday. One sticker from each grade will be chosen to be printed for all Sherman students to wear!

📸 Don’t forget to send photos of your family completing the challenge to Mrs. Vanhoose or Mrs. Hamilton so we can celebrate your participation.

Together, we can make Sherman a safe, caring, and bully-free community. 💙
