5/15 3rd-5th Track & Field Day aka Best Day EVER! ☀️

MAP Carnival Day - we need just a couple more volunteers that have an APPROVED background check on file! Due to Grant County Schools policy, no siblings are able to attend while parent/guardians volunteer. Please see the schedule attached and message ME (Mrs. Hamilton) to be ADDED to the schedule! Thanks! 🍿🤹🏼♂️🎪🎨🎈 (updated 5/15/26 at 2:05 PM)

Fifth grade to Grant County Middle School for Mix It Up Day 💙💛

💛Fifth Grade Dance💙
next Friday, May 22nd
*during school hours
Because the Sherman Tavern Field Trip is the SAME day, the Fifth Grade Dance will be a CASUAL attire! The theme is blue & gold for our students headed to Grant County Middle School OR country attire (boots, cowboy hats, or flannels).

STRIDE Students of the Week ❤️🐎💙 These students do a great job of meeting expectations & they are great examples to their classmates! Keep up the great work!

This past Saturday (5/9), the weather was perfect and 23 students elected to spend the entire day outside at Advanced 4-H Boot Camp! The emphasis was team work and conquering challenges - every group stepped up and completed every challenge they were presented! We had a great group! 🍀🥾

THANK YOU ALL! Our Volunteer sign up for Field Days is FULL! (Attached - updated 5/11/26 at 7:30 AM) 👟
I will post later today about another volunteer opportunity for the school MAP Carnival on May 21st - I just need to confirm the times first!🍿

A reminder that our Parent Advisory Meeting will be held this evening at 5:30 PM. Please enter through the front doors and meet in the library. Here is the link to join virtually. https://meet.google.com/kms-okpw-xev
We look forward to seeing you!

Although we celebrated Staff Appreciation Week at school last week, we encourage our Sherman Community to continue sharing words of appreciation and encouragement with our staff.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already sent messages of gratitude and support. These simple acts of kindness truly make a difference and remind our staff how valued and appreciated they are. When our staff shines, our students shine too!

MESSAGES OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Our students in grades 3-5 are shining on their Kentucky Summative Assessments (KSA), and we want them to feel like the stars they truly are! Submit a special message of encouragement that will be shared with your child during testing this week. Messages are welcome from any family member-- parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, or other loved ones!

Just a reminder: This week into next (May 5th-11th) our 3rd, 4th & 5th grade students are taking the state test.
Here are a few things you can do at home, to make a BIG difference at school:
1. Make sure your student gets plenty of sleep! 8+ hours would be ideal!
2. Be here everyday and on time, so that your student is not behind or rushing to get started!
3. Encourage your student to eat breakfast. Testing on an empty stomach is difficult and our school breakfast is free!
4. Encourage your student to try their best! That is all that we ask: Best effort!

Sound of STRIDE 🔔 for their hard work and determination to finish the race! 👟👟

5/2 Garden Club Project Day - three new brick planters built including a strawberry bed! 🍓 Carrots planted! 🥕 Asparagus roots planted! Cucumbers planted! 🥒 Tomatoes planted! 🍅 And no worries! If the cool nights take out some of our plants, we have more in the greenhouse for backup!
