Grant County Schools Announces New Director of Pupil Personnel and Assistant Superintendent

Grant County Schools is proud to announce that Mr. Dustin Plunkett has been named our new Director of Pupil Personnel (DPP) and Assistant Superintendent. Mr. Plunkett has been a dedicated member of the Grant County Schools team since 2011, serving the past fourteen years at Grant County Middle School.

Mr. Plunkett brings a wealth of experience, a passion for education, and a deep commitment to the students and families of our district. Reflecting on his new role, he shares:

“I’m incredibly excited to step into the role of Director of Pupil Personnel and Assistant Superintendent for Grant County Schools. Having spent my entire career within this district, I bring with me a strong love for our schools, a deep understanding of our students' and families' needs, and a commitment to doing the real, meaningful work that makes a difference. My time at GCMS taught me the power of relationships, consistency, and always remembering why we do what we do.”

In this new position, Mr. Plunkett is most looking forward to broadening his impact across the district. From improving attendance to strengthening student support systems, he is passionate about creating opportunities that help all students thrive.

“I’m here to listen, to learn, to support, and to help move our district forward—with grit, heart, and a shared belief that every student matters and can achieve at high levels.”

We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Plunkett into this leadership role and look forward to the positive impact he will continue to make across Grant County Schools.

Where are Grant County Alumni Today? 2022 Graduate, Cason Jones Cason Jones, a 2022 graduate of Grant County High School, attended Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC), where he received his Associate's Degree in Applied Science this past May. He is gaining valuable experience, employed at Thermal Equipment Sales in his HVAC career. During high school, Cason completed pathways in Ag and Electric, all while co-oping at Complete Forklift Repair in Corinth. 🎉🎉We are excited to announce that Mr. Jordon Floyd will be joining Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary School as the new principal! Mr. Floyd brings with him 16 years of experience in education. He served for 13 years as a special education teacher and assistant principal in the Erlanger-Elsmere School District and has spent the past three years at Sherman Elementary. He holds both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, along with a Principal Certification, from Northern Kentucky University. Mr. Floyd is known for his collaborative spirit, calm leadership, and his ability to create strong relationships with students. He is passionate about supporting positive behavior solutions and helping both students and staff reach their full potential. His goal for the upcoming school year is to ensure CMZ remains a place where students thrive and teachers, staff, and parents feel supported and empowered.
