👉 What is bullying?
Bullying is repeated behavior (it happens more than once), unwanted behavior (the person doesn’t want it to happen), that harms others.
Bullying can look like:
Physical – hitting, pushing, or taking someone’s things
Verbal – name-calling, teasing, or threats
Social – leaving someone out or spreading rumors
Digital – hurtful messages or posts online
💡 Family Challenge – Week of October 6
Talk as a family about what bullying is and why it’s hurtful. Then, work together to create a Bullying Prevention Sticker.
🎨 Turn your sticker in to Mrs. Vanhoose by next Tuesday. One sticker from each grade will be chosen to be printed for all Sherman students to wear!
📸 Don’t forget to send photos of your family completing the challenge to Mrs. Vanhoose or Mrs. Hamilton so we can celebrate your participation.
Together, we can make Sherman a safe, caring, and bully-free community. 💙

This is a grant writing year for the Grant County Family Resource and Youth Service Centers (FRYSC)! With that being said, a required part of the process is a parent survey! By filling out this survey, you are helping shape what services and programs the Grant County FRYSC provide! The survey is anonymous. Please complete this Google Form (ONE survey per household).

Thank you for your time!

Picture retake day is scheduled for October 29th.
If your child did not have their picture taken previously and you would like to order pictures, please notify their teacher via ClassDojo or Thrillshare as soon as possible. We will then send home a picture order form with your child.
If you are requesting a retake of pictures you’ve already received, please return the entire picture package with your child on picture day and inform the teacher that you would like a retake. You will not need a new form and will receive the same package you previously ordered. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kim, Sherman Elementary
This month, we are focusing on helping all students understand what bullying is, why it hurts, and how we can work together to create a safe and respectful school.
👉 What is bullying?
Bullying is repeated behavior (it happens more than one time), unwanted behavior (the person doesn’t want it to happen), that harms others.
If an incident happens only once, it is not bullying—but it is still unkind or disrespectful, and we will always address it.
We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of kindness, respect, and standing up for others.
✨ Each week, families can take part in a Family Challenge to practice bully prevention at home. These fun activities help connect what we are teaching at school with your family conversations. Please see the flyer for details.
📸 Don’t forget—send photos of your family completing each challenge to Mrs. Vanhoose or Mrs. Hamilton so we can celebrate your participation!
Together, we can make Sherman a safe, caring, and bully-free community. 💙
