My name is Lauren Davis and I am proud to say that this is my third year teaching at Grant County High School. I taught English I for two years, and am currently teaching sophomore English II and English II Honors.
I am originally from Southern California, but my fiance and I made the decision four years to ago to relocate to the northern Kentucky area. He is originally from Fleming County, Kentucky, and I have enjoyed learning about the rich history of the state. It is an incredibly beautiful part of the country, and I feel lucky to live here. Although it is much different culturally and geographically from Southern California, I appreciate the state’s majestic beauty and natural resources. I truly would not choose to live anywhere else.
I graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in Carson, California in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in English, and then completed my post-baccalaureate teaching credential through the CSUDH two-year Teacher Education Program. I completed my student teaching in the second largest school district in the United States, Los Angeles Unified School District, as well as in Hawthorne Unified School District. I then went on to begin my master’s degree in English at CSUDH while serving as a teaching assistant in the English department of Los Angeles Community College; I am currently completing my graduate degree at Northern Kentucky University.
I am very grateful and fortunate to be a part of the Grant County High School family. Go Braves!
