The Transportation Department is responsible for transporting over 3000 students on a daily basis. Grant County school buses travel over 3800 miles each day. There are 37 full time bus drivers and 2 part time bus drivers. Each bus drivers completes a comprehensive, 55-hour course in driver safety that is specifically designed for school bus drivers.

Mr. Scott Shipp, Director of Operations, and Ms. Jackie St. Amour, Transportation Director, together with Transportation Department Staff, constantly review the bus routes to make each route as efficient as possible.

Grant County Schools have 60 buses in their fleet which are maintained by mechanics Travis Beach and Brent Caldwell. Each bus is inspected on a monthly basis to ensure that it is safe to transport the most important  resource in Grant County – our students. Additionally, we try to improve the fleet each year by replacing older buses with new buses which help us improve our efficiency.

Rounding out the transportation support team are: David Lane, Bus Driver/Trainer; Carol Wright, Account Clerk; and Mattie Gutman, Administrative Secretary
