Credit Recovery Program

Grant County High School
715 Warsaw Rd
Dry Ridge, KY 41035
Phone:: 859-824-9739
Fax:: 859-824-9756

OBJECTIVES:
1.  To target and serve those students in grades 9 through 12 who are at risk of dropping out of school, who need to recover course credit not achieved in traditional classroom settings, and students who have returned to school after dropping out.

2.  To serve transfer students whose credits aren't compatible with GCHS credit requirements.

3.  To provide assessment of program participants, develop an individual service strategy for each, and provide preparation for post secondary educational opportunities with strong links to the job market and employers.

ACTIVITIES:
The coursework is a self-paced program.  As each unit is finished in the two-part coursework, a test is administered and a final is given on each of the two workbooks.

Each student has a textbook and a workbook, but these are not taken from the room except in cases of pregnancy, illness, or injury, which requires a student to work at home.  All students will vary in their spped and abilities to finish the coursework.  Students work at their own pace, but are encouraged to work to the best of their abilities.

PLATO:
The Plato Program is new this year to our program.  It involves students taking their courses on the computer.  We are hoping to incorporate this in our program more in the future.
