Dear Parents and Stakeholders:
In keeping with Governor Beshear’s recommendation, Grant County Schools will be closed for 4 weeks, starting Monday, March 16, in an effort to help control the spread of COVID-19. Three of the weeks, March 16 – April 3, will be considered “Non-Traditional Instruction” (NTI) days, with instruction continuing via remote learning. The fourth week, April 6-10, is our regularly scheduled Spring Break.
We do not have information beyond these
announced dates.
Schools utilizing the NTI provision are required to continue off-site instruction / learning. Therefore, additional educational materials will be forthcoming for every student.
We have spent our morning developing a
plan for the delivery of food to our students. Our plans will be to
deliver a hot lunch and a cold breakfast daily (M-F) March 16-April 3 to a
number of pick-up locations throughout the county.
To accommodate both the delivery
of instruction and the delivery of food, we are asking EVERY
family to visit and complete the survey available at this
address:
https://forms.gle/ZZV4Mv6wBxttm1Uw6
This will help us know who has
what technology available, how much food to prepare, where
it
should be delivered, etc. A schedule for food delivery will be posted to
our Facebook page and website by Monday morning (if not before).
Please note: Before
declining the meals being
provided during this time, please
consider what impact
the nation-wide response to COVID-19 may have on the financial stability of
your household. We do believe that between the resources available inside
our Grant County Schools Food Service Department and the anticipated special
provisions via the federal government, that the provision of meals during this
time is something our school district can do for our community. If this
helps your family, please feel free to participate.
Thank you for your support and continued
attention to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are committed to continue
to work as a community to protect the health and well-being of all.
