COVID-19 UPDATE: April 10, 2020 / Second Transportation Department Employee Tests Positive
Superintendent
Dear GCS Families,
The Grant County School District has
received word that a second transportation employee has tested
positive for COVID-19.
The employee who tested positive was
involved in the food delivery on Monday, March 30, 2020, on Bus 173, serving Chipman
Ridge, Reed-Kinman, Mason-Sipple, Webb-Odor, Dunn-Mazie,
Denny, and Shields Shinkle
Roads. To the best of our knowledge, any
exposure on the part of families along this route would have been
indirect. The
employee was not
having
symptoms
while on the job
nor did the employee handle any food.
The health department directs communication in the event of direct
exposure. We are providing this
communication as in an effort to provide transparency.
As we continue to navigate COVID-19, all
future notifications from the Grant County School District relative to positive
tests will be based specifically upon health department guidance. When/if the health department recommends
communicating, we will follow their recommendations in doing so.
For any real or possible cases of
COVID-19 that may occur, but that do not come with the health department’s recommendation to communicate, we simply
urge you to remain diligent in following all the precautionary measures that have
been publicized throughout the last several weeks.
If you have questions regarding your / your child’s health and/or COVID-19, please reference the information
available at https://govstatus.egov.com/kycovid19. Likewise, our district is happy to help with any
questions if we can.
Thank you for your thoughtful
consideration and cooperation moving forward.
Best Regards,
Matt Morgan
