Dr. Bryley Murphy and his wife, Kendall
Grant County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Bryley Murphy as the new Principal of Grant County High School, starting on July 1, 2024. He will succeed Mr. Todd Moody, who has accepted the Superintendent position within Grant County Schools. Dr. Murphy is currently serving as an Assistant Principal at Grant County High School. “It is my belief that the students of Grant County are the equal of students anywhere. Our families deserve a high school which prepares graduates for their future lives. I know Mr. Moody's vision for our district is the right one, and I am deeply excited to join with our excellent GCHS families, faculty, and staff, to continue building the institution this county deserves.” Dr. Murphy shares.
Dr. Murphy began his professional career as a math teacher at Lincoln County High School, and later worked at Randall K. Cooper High School in Boone County and in South Carolina. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky, a Master's degree in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Kentucky. Mr. Todd Moody shares that "Dr. Murphy possesses a powerful combination of enthusiasm, compassion, scholarship, and optimism. I am excited for the growth that will occur at Grant County High School under his leadership."
Dr. Murphy resides in Burlington with his wife Kendall and young daughter, Charlotte. Grant County Schools is thrilled to have him in this new role at Grant County High School.
