Home of the Braves & Lady Braves!!!

Welcome Braves and Lady Braves fans!

Welcome to Grant County Braves' Athletics!  I feel privileged to be a part of Braves Nation and Grant County Athletics!  I am a 1987 graduate of Tennessee Temple University in Chatanooga, TN with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with a Math proficiency.  My wife, Michele, and I have been married for 36 years as of this past June and have 3 children: Paige (married to Matt) who has our 3 grandchildren, Mackenzie, Avery & Colton; Joe (married to Tiffany) and Judy.  The girls are here in northern Kentucky as well while Joe is currently in the military.  We've moved back to Kentucky after 15 years in beautiful Colorado Springs to be close to family, especially the grandkids.  I've had a passion for athletics as I've been playing myself since around 7 years old through this past Spring in a senior volleyball league in Colorado as well as this will be my 36th year in education and high school athletics with stops in Delaware, Kentucky, Colorado and KY for the 2nd and final time.  I've coached anywhere from middle school girls' basketball to high school varsity volleyball for boys and girls and have been most satisfied when former players had a desire to get into coaching and became my assistant coaches while in college or after their college graduation.

Although I'm still as competitive as anyone I know and played volleyball at the college level at James Madison University during my freshman year of college, I understand that the most important things young people can get out of athletics and teams sports are characteristics, determination and life skills that will lead them to be successful in whatever area they decide to live their adult lives in.  It's been said that coaches influence more people in a year than most people do in a lifetime, I believe it is extremely important that our coaches understand that though they are expected to make your children better athletes in their field, their most important goal is to develop skills and characteristics in their players that will help them succeed as adults and be productive members of their community.

I look forward to meeting many of you and getting to know your young people throughout the school year.
