Grant County Schools Announces Next Chief Academic Officer / Assistant Superintendent

Grant County Schools is enthusiastic to announce Mrs. Jamie Kellam has accepted the role of Chief Academic Officer / Assistant Superintendent within Grant County Schools. Mrs. Kellam whose current role is Director of Secondary Education within GCS will take the Chief Academic Officer role in July upon the retirement of Mrs. Jennifer Wright. Incoming Superintendent, Todd Moody shares, “Jamie possesses the experience, knowledge, disposition, and attention to detail that is critical in ensuring that all students succeed within Grant County Schools.”

Mrs. Kellam has extensive experience with Grant County Schools over her sixteen years serving as a Library Media Specialist, Curriculum Specialist, Assistant Principal, and Director of Secondary Education. “I am both honored and humbled to have been selected as the next Chief Academic Officer/Assistant Superintendent of Grant County Schools. I will continue to work alongside our team of administrators, teachers, and support staff to ensure our students succeed. Every child deserves a high-quality education, and it is our collective responsibility to partner with families to engage and empower our students to reach their full potential,” stated Jamie upon accepting the new role.

“It is bittersweet,” explained Kellam, “Mrs. Jennifer Wright is an extraordinary role model and has been my mentor since day 1 at Grant County, she is leaving such big shoes to fill!” Mrs. Wright announced her retirement in January, after serving Grant County Schools for thirty-five years. 

Jamie and her husband Tim have two grown children, Sarah and Cody who are both Grant County graduates. “Grant County is my home, and I understand the impact that our schools have on the lives of our students, their families, and the future of our community. Our goal is to produce competent, capable, and healthy citizens who strive to make a positive difference in the world,” Jamie remarked. 

We look forward to working closely with Mrs. Kellam in her new role supporting Grant County student's pathway to success.
