Hello my name is Ms. Furman and I am the Curriculum Specialist at MCE. Here is just a little bit about myself: I grew up in Grant County and even attended the old Mason School in 5th and 6th grade. I received my bachelor’s degree at NKU, master’s degree at EKU in Instructional Leadership, and my rank 1 through National Board Certification. I have been working in Grant County Schools for 23 years. I taught for 16 years at Dry Ridge Elementary and one year at Sherman Elementary in 2nd grade. In 2018, I was named Kentucky Elementary Teacher of the Year and now enjoy my current role as the Curriculum Specialist here at MCE. I’m excited to call MCE my home again.
As the curriculum specialist, it is my goal to build life long readers, thinkers, and writers in our students and embrace a professional growth mindset of enduring literacy and learning. I hope the information I include on this website will be useful to you and your child. I'm looking forward to a great school year supporting the staff, students, and families of MCE.
