Hello,
My name is Karla Hurley and I am so excited to be starting my 7th school year as the Family Resource Center Coorindintor for Mason-Corinth Elementary. Family Resource Centers have been created as part of the Kentucky Reform Act, also known as KERA. The intent of each of the centers is to enhance the student's ability to succeed in school by assisting children, parents, and families in meeting some of their needs. The assistance is provided by myself or by linking our MCE families to businesses and agenicies in our community.
Part of my role as the FRC Coordinator is to ensure all volunteers and chaperones have a current Grant County Schools background check on file, as well as volunteer training. Background checks are good for 5 years and Volunteer Training needs to be completed every year. If you or a family member are interested in volunteering in the classroom or chaperoning a field trip, please contact me to ensure all of the necessary paperwork has been completed. Background checks can take several weeks to be processed, so please plan ahead. The Volunteer Training can be completed online by clicking the Volunteer Training tab on the right.
I am confident it is going to be an
Amazing school year to learn new information, make new friends, and have so much fun while we learn and grow together. If you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance please feel free to contact me at MCE Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm during the school year at 859-824-9510 or
[email protected] Please note: Days/Hours during the months of June and July vary.
Sincerely,
Karla Hurley, LSW, MA
