ONGOING TOBACCO CESSATION OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to establishing all Grant County School properties and activities 100%, 24/7 tobacco-free, the new policies also call for the provision of services to assist interested staff, students, and community members in their efforts to cease or at least modify their tobacco use.

Rhonda Schlueter, RN, NCSN, District Health Coordinator, will coordinate these efforts for all interested parties.  For additional information about any of the cessation programs listed below, please contact Mrs. Schlueter at:

Cooper Clayton Cessation Classes

The Cooper Clayton Cessation Program is a free 13-week program which incorporates three main components to guide participants along their journey towards freedom from cigarettes or other tobacco products:
1)  Weekly group support meetings
2)  Nicotine Replacement products - utilizing patches, gum, or lozenges
3)  Skill development to assist in relapse prevention.

Cooper Clayton classes are available in-person or on-line.

Online Classes:  The Cooper Clayton Program is also offered online and free-of-charge.  Participants in the web-based class may join at any time, and the course materials can be accessed at any time.  A facilitator will be online for live chats each week from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays for additional support.  To enroll, please visit the Northern Kentucky Independent District Health Department Cooper Clayton Online page.


Quit Now Kentucky

"Quit Now" On-line Program
Quit Now Kentucky offers Kentucky residents free access to online tools, support, and other information to assist in a successful journey to freedom from tobacco. Visit https://www.quitnowkentucky.org/ to join.

"Quit Now" Telephone Program  (1-800-QuitNow)
Those interested may also utilize the services a quit coach via the telephone. 
Call 1-800-Quit-Now to enroll.

(Note:  Employees enrolled in the state health insurance plan may purchase nicotine replacement products (patch, etc.) for a reduced price if they enroll in Cooper Clayton or either of the Quit Now programs.)
